All are cordially invited to the Asanteman Day 2017 in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas from   September 1 thru 4, 2017.  This auspicious cultural event will be attended by representatives of various Asanteman associations, Chiefs and Queenmothers, other royals and dignitaries from North America and Ghana.

As part of this annual cultural event that actively and genuinely promotes and celebrates the unity, culture and history of the Asantes in North America through symbols, rituals, education and ceremonies, the organizers are planning the following events/activities:

Friday, September 1, 2017 (daytime):   Business Forum

Saturday, September 2, 2017 (daytime):   Grand Durbar and Cultural Show

Sunday, September 3, 2017 (daytime):     Asanteman Congress and Delegates Forum in a Town Hall format where general discussions on socio-economic issues affecting Asanteman and development projects will be held.  Delegates of member associations and leaders of Asanteman Council of North America will take and respond to questions.  It is open to the general public.

Sunday, September 3, 2017 (evening):  Grand Fundraising Dinner Dance.

Monday, September 4, 2017 (daytime):  Food and Music Festival.

Purpose

The purpose of the Asanteman Day celebrations is two-fold:

1) Educating the general public about the traditions and culture of the Asante Kingdom that have had a worldwide impact on civilization.  Showcasing the rich Asante Culture with the objective of inculcating core “Asanteman” values into nurturing our young ones so as to maintain a sustainable community of responsible citizens as well as strengthening their emotional attachment to the Asante Kingdom in any social and economic phenomenon, and

2) Establishing a network of Asantes, friends and sympathizers of Asanteman to help support; initiate businesses and development projects for the well-being and development of the Asante Kingdom in particular and Ghana in general.
